Are you using Traffic-Power?

How long do you think it would be before Google is smart enough to detect the unnatural way you have stuffed all your keywords all over the page? (eg Fingerprintlocks, fingerprintmouse, fingerprintID, fingerprintaccess, fingerprintidentification) - Google is getting smarter.

Default Google is getting smarter

I read and believe a lot of what is written here, BUT. Yesterday I came across a well ranked page with about a hundred links using a white font an a white background. Not white type on a white image. Just shamelesly breaking the rule and getting away with it.

How smart are they raelly?

They are getting smarter - especially link and semantic analysis.

How do you know that they were not penalized for the hidden text and rank well for legitimate reasons?

Default Play by the rules

You may wish to rethink your strategy. My main competitor is doing much the same thing you are and is ranked #1 in Google and has been for some time.

I believe cbp is correct, and it is just a matter of time before you and my #1 competitor is caught and penalized by Google.

I for one am in it for the long term, not the short, and believe I can eventually achieve higher rankings by playing by the rules.

Just my 2 cents worth.

It may work for not so competitive key words but when you go after key words like website design, computers, website hosting all that stuff will do is help you get banned.

You need to understand what your doing can get your site banned and if you understand the risk involved then that is fine but before you tell others to do it you need to make sure they also understand the risk.

Why not have the courage of your convictions and answer the questions here rather than delete your original message and private mail me accusing me of knowing nothing about search engines.

As previously asked:
1) It appears you are using Traffic Power (this can get you baned from search engines - http://www.webproworld.com/viewtopic.php?t=19070)
2) It is easy to rank well on the uncompetitive terms that you have. The way you have stuffed them everywhere in the page could lead to a penalty.
3) It looks as though you use WebPositionGold - did you know that Google specifically recommends against using it for rank checking?

Prove to us you know what you are doing by debating here.

I'm just curious if anyone that has emailed Google to complain about spam has received a positive response? I reported two sites the other day to both Google and Yahoo after talking to someone in another post about reporting spam. Obviously you want to report those who are using unfair tactics against you...just want to know how effective it is. I even reported a site that was running AdSense...so that should be interesting. It is clearly breaking the Google guidelines as well.

Never. I've e-mailed a spam report once a day, for at least three weeks about www.dri-wash.com and www.waterless-wash.com. Both use hidden text at the bottom of their pages. www.dri-wash.com is ranked #1 for "dri wash' and "waterless car wash" and they're getting away with it...

I've gotta agree with most people on here with this one. DON'T take that kind of a risk. I go through the SERPs for all my competitors to do research on how they are ranking, and the second I find junk, I report it. Your competitors probably are watching way more than you think.

Haven't seen anything as blatant as www.waterless-wash.com since the early days. They now have a PR0 and I can't find them anywhere under "waterless car wash". Dis they already hve the goose egg or is that new?

My toolbar shows they have a PR of 3 - they've been around for quite some time, since the old days I guess. dri-wash.com has also been around for quite some time as well, all the rest of their pages (besides their homepage) are old school HTML. Blatant disregard for the rules still doesn't get you banned, even with spam reports.

Looks like girations again! They have a 3 now (nothing to write home about) but they did have a 0 earlier.

Has anyone checked the other google databases to see if another "rearrangement" is shuffling down the chute?

I have complained many times to Google and to Yahoo about a few websites, over the past several months.
Just a big waste of time, as those websites still enjoy high rankings even though they have bunch of hidden text, hidden links, and other illegal stuff.

I would say that Google simply discount these types of tricks, not penalize. That is, the page would rank the same without the "white font on a white background".

Google takes pride in having the largest database to serve up relevant results. It is VERY rare that it will ban a site (no such thing as penalize IMO).

A site that uses "white font on a white background" type tricks can still be relevant. If it is, Google will rank it accordingly and simply ignore these silly tricks.

IMO, when/if you report spam to Google they will read the email. If it is something not accounted for in their algo, they will do what is needed. If it's nothing new and already being considered (white text white background) they will do nothing. Either way, they will never let us (the spam submitter) know as this alone could help others spam. They will also rarely ban a site for spamming unless it's beyond their control.

IMO A lot more than most give credit for! Definitely smarter than most spammers.

I actually got a quick reply about my inquiry to Google. But, they told me to forward my complaint to the spam department. So I did that, and we'll see. But basically, what I took from the email was that Google is against these sites, and will continue to work on its algorithm to combat these tactics. In other words, Google will NOT solve these problems site by site, but offer large scale solutions to phase out these spammers.
