Default Someone else has to be having this problem, MUST LOOK!

Someone else has to be having this problem, it can't be just me.

Every single day my site, http://www.logogolfproducts.com jumps from page 1 to page 4 for logo golf balls. This has been going on for almost a month now. Nothing has been changed and googlebot visits my site a number of times every day. It has been listed for over 2 years now.

Every single day it jumps to the exact same spot, although there was one time it went to page 5 instead of 4, but never page 2 or 3 or 6 or anything else. I haven't changed one thing in a long time. Monday it was on page 1, Tuesday page 4, yesterday 1, today 4...this is on a continual basis...every day.

Has anyone else experienced this, or know why this is happening? I sent an email to google, but expect the generic canned response.

I would prefer it would stay in one spot so I could optimize if need be, but this damn thing is all over.

Please give me any advice you can. Thanks
Mike

It definitely sounds frustrating--going from page 1 to page 4 in the rankings.

You have a lot going on here, probably too much to mention here in the forums. The first thing I would do is to get rid of your shared IP address. That's definitely not a good thing, and could be messing up your rankings. Ask your host for a dedicated IP address or get another host if they won't comply.

Your changing in rankings may be due to the fact that Google appears to see most of your 284 pages of content being duplicates, and that may be the issue. Your shopping cart and the product listings pages should be optimized better than they are (e.g., don't use the same meta tags for all products).

Hope this helps!

To be honest, I don't really care about anything but the index page...It doesn't even matter if it indexes the product pages and such. Would it help if I just adjusted the robots.txt file to not index that?

And I have a shared IP for over a year now, isn't that strange the IP would have just caused problems within the last month? Not being a smart ass, just wondering.

anything else you can find?

If some other site got banned or penalized that was on the same IP, then you would see a change too. You might even be banned yourself.

Dont block the internal pages. You have a lot of internal pages, they help boost the rank of the entire site. If you block them then I would suspect that your site would fall.

Google may be indexing a link to your site that is dynamic, and it sometimes see's it and sometimes not. It may be adjusting the SERPS every time it misses and every time it finds the link. Anchor text links can be extremely powerfull if coming from the right site.

I know that you don't care about anything other than the home page, but one-page websites don't get rankings.

How often do you update this page? How often do you re-ftp the site and change the byte count of the page?
