2,590 back-links and PR0 - why?
Googlebot is a strange beast - take this site:
It has 2,590 back-links showing - but is PR0.
Why?
(Results 1 - 10 of about 2,590 for links: [ www.sitemeter.com])

From all indications, that site is banned in Google. They must have done something that Google doesn't like (thus the PR0 and the ban).

Normally, I would say it's banned too. It's got a very high percentage of link text (21%), and a large number of their links are scumware/get rich quick schemes/other assorted thoroughly useless "content" circa 1997. They be GOLD in them thar hills, Ma! Git yer pickin' stick and let's ta fetch us some NUGGETS!
The only thing that would cause me not to say this for sure would be Google's running of AdWords on the opening page. Banning a site indicates that the site is deemed to be unworthy for some reason or another, usually valid, of Google's userbase. So why would Google elect to advertise on the same site, knowing 1) that they're not going to receive any revenue from PPC from Google users who may find sitemeter.com in the search results and 2) that the site is in violation of Google's rules for submission and/or quality?
Maybe someone who has incorporated Google Adwords on a website before (I've never had a reason to myself) could explain that.

It used to be link: www.sitemeter.com , but now link: http://www.sitemeter.com works as well.
Using link: www.sitemeter.com (with the gap) does not search for back links - it searches for pages that contain the terms 'link' and 'www.sitemeter.com'
