Default Problem with my Adwords account?

I'm hoping that someone can help me out because Google isn't getting back to me, so maybe some of you have seen this before. I am new to the adwords game, but I created some ads and had no impressions at all and the rank was 0....I thought this was weird so I made some ads for fun and picked some very popular keywords, jacked up the cpc to the point were I was #1 on everything and yet when I look in there I have 0 impressions and 0 for ranking. Had anyone had this happen before? I am thinking there must be something wrong with my account perhaps? They all say they are active, but I don't think they really are otherwise I would have at least 1 impression lol. Any suggestions ?

I just checked my billing preferences and there was no credit card selected...is that perhaps why I was having the problem? I thought I read somewhere they would invoice you otherwise?

Default look at it carefully

Make sure you look at your campaign carefully. Sometimes itll say the ad was disqualified, and its hard to tell because the print is soo small. This happened to me once. I had to change the ad format, and I didnt notice the small font telling me to do so for several days. Check it out.

Default Maybe its your daily budget?

Hi,

I have some expereience with google adwords, but I may not be understanding your issue completly. I apologize in advance if I missed your point, but I hope this is helpful in any case.

My suggestion would be to check your daily budget limit. From what I understand the rankings are based on a clickthrough per impression ratio, so the more times your adword shows and is clicked, the higher you are rated (and the higher your add goes on the page). The less your add is selected, the higher the amount of times it will be shown and the making your adword less statistically significant which will reduce your rating.

If your daily budget is too low, and not enough people click on your ad, then the ad impression rate will be very high in comparison to your actiual clickthroughs. Once you reach your daily limit, your add will not be shown again and your ad ratio won't have a chance to be improved.

Adwords can get very expensive this way, and for some of the adwords I have used, google has suggested Multi-$$$$ daily budget (I think it is based on 100% clickthrough depending on the number of searches for that word which is registered daily) which is not always realistic for your project. I do like their interface for manipulating the ads and after a while you will be able to find a good balance between budget vs clickthrough payback.

I hope this was helpful.

Default Check countries?

You probably already know this, but I'll take one more stab at it just in case...

You may want to check is the countries that you set to have your adwords viewed in.

In order to make your searches more geographically relevant you can set the countries that your adwords will show in. You may like to check to make sure that your adwords are viewable in the correct countries for the site you are promoting.

I hope this was helpful.

I am having this same problem. I joined AdWords and I guess I thought there would be a plethora of traffic, but it has not moved since starting. One thing happened that is weird. After starting, I received an email from them saying my keywords had slowed three times and I would have to "restore" my account and pay 5.00 more dollars to do so. I followed all the steps they gave in the email. Supposedly there would be a "restore" button in my campaign summary. There wasn't. I wrote Google only to have no reply. It says my campaign is "active". Any thoughts? Nicci

Don't know if this does apply to anyone here. I just signed up for adwords and created only one campaign, according to google, my ads won't be shown until I give them my credit card details - this might be relevant to the original poster.
My campaign is showing as 'active' also but I have deliberately not given my details yet as I want to be sure I have the campaign right before I do.
I expect (I hope) all will be fine when I input my card details.
