Can I place adsense and paid links and banners on the same page together? I read an article about this and was a little confused. If I have adsense down the right side of my page, can I or can I not have private paid link there also? Thanks A

If you do not make your non google adverts look like google ads you should be fine.
Do not copy the Google style Google are pretty cool. . Just make sure your users can clearly see and understand which adverts are from google, and what adverts are not. Note. If you place Off topic adverts on your page, this can confuse the the program that selects your google adverts. If you 'tighten' your page content . . you will get more specific google ads. (more money) P.S I just checked your site at http://www.hortclassifieds.com/ looks good..

Thanks for the reply, and comment for the site. Lots of work and lots more to come. I get a laugh out of people that think I do Nothing all day. another question about links. Do links have to be in HTML format in my link section to be seen as actual links, or can I just make it a hyper link to the the site

If your users can follow the link, then Google will almost certainly be capable of following it.
If you do not want Google to follow the link (many reasons) then do a WebProWorld search for discussions on the nofollow tag. You decide if a link is on your page. Google decides if it gives any value to the link. Common sense says do not place a link unless it has a value to your user.

Not sell text links, google SE penalize your site.

No, not if it is done correctly.

you can also script a randomizer into the site, so a banner for instance can call code from text files in a custom folder on your site pulling for example code for a personal site banner, a direct link banner, and a google ad banner.

Hi, I've just read your advice on Adsense and other ads text links. According to what I've read about it, I'd better not include text links in the content. But, would it make any harm to include a horizontal banner, for example, adding the "sponsored link" phrase on top of it in some place through the text?
Another question I have is your opinion about to include in some special parts of the text the phrase "<!-- google_adsense_ad_section_start -->" that I've seen in some sites. Would it be considered by the Bots? if so, what about the MSN or Yahoo Bots? I'd appreciate your kindly advice. Rgds G. |

For paid links, I think you should use nofollow tag. I am not sure about it: you can contact adsense support for help in order to be 100% safe.
