Britney Spears Does Google AdSense

Britney Spears's web site seems to be currently being redesigned by MusicToday. MusicToday has placed the Google AdSense ads at the bottom of the page.

Is it just me or does this seem like a low life thing to do?

This is just wrong

Why? Even if Google has deindexed my sites, (and I have my suspects) I can not see any reason as long as it is legal business. Even that is impossible to control. And business rules varies from countries to countries, so that make it nearly impossible to control.

A new reason why SE companies should be very careful when banning (Ad on) sites.

And I think I will change the policy of my "Meta search engine" mentioned in that thread that I will be evil, since that policy is more realistic than Google's IMO.

My bolding.

Agree if that is correct and done against her will.

On the surface, I don't see anything wrong at all.

Too many questions and/or agreements we don't know about or know the answers to.

Maybe she did not have the money to pay them and told them they could do that to collect their money.

That's a possibility. It's also possible she's getting part/some/most of the money from it.

I did notice that the ad block is labeled as "test" also. Not something I think someone would do if they were trying to be underhanded about it.

Or maybe she did not want to go further with the site and plans to send the traffic to other sites but wanted control of the site in case she is locked up with nothing to do. She can turn it into a blog and become a blogger.

So you think she knows nearly as much about the digital world as you Janeth? I vote for you until the opposite is proved

Janeth there you have two green squares.

To be more precise. For this

Who's complaining here? The adsense publishers, right? Not Google, not the designer, not Britney Spears.

I'm not getting what the problem is. Advertising is not a bad thing right? Where those ads are placed is their own choice.

Britney most likely has never even looked at the site. My problem is that the ads belong to the web designer. It just seems tacky to me for the web designer to place their ads on the site while they are redesigning it.

I guess I'm not much of a Britney Spears fan,.. I don't see the problem.

But I know what you want to say. You think it's wrong for the designer company to do this. Maybe they´re just sharing the revenues. Then again, could just be a test as it says in the HTML: /* Britney test 728x90, created 3/27/08 */

And it very well could be.

I see nothing wrong here, and we just don't know how the funds are being distributed. Possibly, the design firm is using the AdSense revenue to offset the costs of building the site (you know how celebrities expect everything for free).

Or is it possible that someone said to a lowly person at the firm: "We are going to place some Java script there. Can you just shove some Java code to test it, please.? But DO mark it up as a test, OK?"

They they thought: "Gee! the Google ads I was working on! They are Java script! Oh. I'll just shove that on the site and place test on it!"

Anything is possible. It is also possible that the web designer said, "these people paying to do this do not have a clue what's going on. The site is getting 100,000 unique visitors per day. I wonder how my Google Adsense would do here?
