Default Wrong results on my site on my computer

For some reason my computer often shows the wrong adsense results on the sites that I run.

I have a moderate hearing problem, due to working in my teens to early 20s at a foundry and a few years back in a DQ call centre which had no limiters on the turrets we used.

I was searching for online hearing loss tests. (Moderate, apparently, so I think I need to see the doctor)

I have a Google account.

One site now keeps throwing up results for hearing tests, deafness, hearing aids, etc., even though I am not running a hearing-related story.

Has Google Adwords got a glitch which includes search returns as adword criteria on the machine you are creating the blog on?

If you are logged into your Google account, then adsense can take into account your search.browsing history when displaying ads to you.

So if you have done a lot of searches on hearing loss lately ...

Usually Adwords puts ads for the theme of the site. It bases the ads on the text that it finds. For our blog, if I make a post about something other than "CD Rates", the CD rate ads are still favored because of how heavy our site is in that arena. However, Google does allow for a tag so you can suggest what text the ads should be related to. I haven't used it at this point, but here it is:

<!-- google_ad_section_start -->

<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

You can also designate sections you'd like to have ignored by adding a (weight=ignore) to the starting tag:

<!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) -->

Hope that helps.

Martin,

I have had a similar situation with the actual google results changing from when I was logged into my account versus not being logged in. RW is correct, you could try logging out that should fix the problem, or even clearing your search history within your account.

By the way, here is a free online hearing test:

Thanks. Yes, logging out did clear the problem. But it seems a slightly odd glitch!
