It's inevitable that there start to be college courses on ppc marketing... it's just that the "academic world" takes "a little while" to get used to it.
The truth is that the only thing that Google is gaining from the training is the free branding of being "the leader in search". As long as Yahoo has the search volume that they do, the search marketing experts that google trains will turn to Yahoo as well. (Except that they will do Google first and foremost.
It's a shame that academic institutions can't be more on the ball. Heck, their radio and TV training (communications major) also could use alot more hands-on training. The other sad thing is that Yahoo isn't playing this game either. You'd think that Yahoo should be better at the
"Branding part" of the game.
