Default Planting The AdWords Seed Young

Please review my latest article on Google:

Google Growing AdWords Buyers Young, Through Local Marketing Contest - Jaan’s Search Marketing and SEO Blog from Cincinnati, Ohio

Doesn't this contest seem like Google is planting the seed of AdWords in college students young. Showing them and the local business that their is affordable marketing online through Google AdWords.

Pretty smart thinking on Google's part. To grow the AdWords inventory long term through college participation and promotion.

Interesting. Digital branding and digital advertising should be teached as part of marketing and coroprate finance globally.

The fundamentals of financial advisors dont really chnage that much or often, but they do for online marketing.

I do not think it is particularly sinister or anything. Were Google to create a giant adwords bunny rabbit and be running tv ads with subliminal messages during sponge bob square pants programmes, I may feel differently.

It's inevitable that there start to be college courses on ppc marketing... it's just that the "academic world" takes "a little while" to get used to it.

The truth is that the only thing that Google is gaining from the training is the free branding of being "the leader in search". As long as Yahoo has the search volume that they do, the search marketing experts that google trains will turn to Yahoo as well. (Except that they will do Google first and foremost.

It's a shame that academic institutions can't be more on the ball. Heck, their radio and TV training (communications major) also could use alot more hands-on training. The other sad thing is that Yahoo isn't playing this game either. You'd think that Yahoo should be better at the "Branding part" of the game.
