Default New TOS changes.

They updated the TOS rules, and added new ads to choose from. Part of the TOS now says..

Quote:
Multiple ad units may be displayed on each Web site page, but no ad unit shall contain any advertisement in common with any other ad unit.
About that, Google says.....

The multiple ads language is confusing, I agree. At this point, there's no way to assure that ads won't be double-served if two layouts are on the same page. So multiple ad layouts on a page are still not allowed... I think the language is there so that we have room to introduce new features as we move forward.

I should have used the term 'ad units' to be consistent - you can have only a single ad unit per page, irrelevant of which format you use. So, either one leaderboard, or one inline rectangle, etc... You can't have multiple pieces of ad layout code on the same page.

Default Duplicates still not allowed!

Having seen that same change in the TOS, I placed two ad units on a page and still had them email me that I wasn't conforming.
This is not verbatim as that's confidential, but here's the gist of it, from Google:

There isn't a mechanism in place to prevent double ads if two serving units are within the same page. So, even still with the updated TOS, Adsense publishers may only place one copy of AdSense ad code on a single page.

Seems like Google bit off more than they could chew for once!

So, I took the second ad box down.

Also had a site banned by adsense, they said the content wasnt allowed. So I've ad space on a popular site. Any adsense alternatives, with the same implementation as we're used to? I remember seeing an adsense alternative once, just forget where I saw it.

Anyone know an Adsense alternative, that's good?
