Default Google Adwords vs Adsense

hello,

I am trying to find out whether it would be smarter to have our ads appear just in Google (adwords) or on other sites through Google Adsence?

Anyone have any comments or suggestions on this? Which would bring more traffic to our site? Anyone have experince with this?

Any advice would we very helpful. Thanks,

Obviously by allowing your Adwords campaign to be displayed on related websites you increase your visibility tremendously. You also increase your potential cost as well. It's up to you to decide if you want to spend more and reach a wider audience.

Thanks stymiee,

I am new to all this and I found tons of info on Adwords and some on adsense but nothing on how the two could work together or how having the 2 is more of a benefit of just one or the other. What's your opinion?

You are confusing your terminology..

Adwords = the ads you pay to have listed.. It doesn't matter where they are listed, Google, Ad Network, Content Network, etc.. You "pay" for these..

Adsense = the ads you run on your website and get "paid" for when they are clicked..

Two sides of the same coin..

Now, depending on your market being out on the content network may do nothing more than increase your expenses.. It requires a budget to work with and lots of testing to find the spot that makes you the best ROI..

HI, i'm new to the forum. I would recommend adwords over adsense because once you pay for your adwords campaign or PPC not only will you be able to reach more people with targeted keywords and search phrases but you will also appear on adsense campaigns! Basically once you pay Google, they post your ads on the sides or top of a keyword search and in related websites that sponser adsense. Additionally, if you create an attractive landing page you give your visitors a greater incentive to convert; and this is all possible through your PPC and adwords campaign. Good luck!

Again, adwords and adsense are two different things.. They are not interchangeable..

Adwords is the advertising you pay Google to post on their and other websites..

Adsense is the advertising that you host on your website, served by Google, that you get paid for when people click on the ads..

Adwords is broken down in to several categories..

Google Search: Your ads appear only on Google searches.
Search Network: Your ads appear on Google partner sites like AOL, Earthlink, Ask, etc.
Content Network: The whole freaking internet. Your ads appear anywhere that is contextually related to your keywords.

The bulk of the fraud tends to be on the content network..

You have the Context Network wrong

This is the sites where the Adsense ads are displayed.

You will not see Adwords Ads displayed on Yahoo Ask Msn etc.

No not really,

the bulk of webmasters & search marketing posers.... who have no idea how to use Adwords and other paid search marketing programs, tosses enormous sums of cash at a problem they have no business trying to wrestle, and then when things go badly, they cry fraud!

So many have no training......... nor idea of whats involved....or so tight with a penny and proud of ego will not hire a pro or assume wrongly they can do it if others can....which is like saying we can all play pro sports... when we can't if we're honest with ourselves....

Content not context network, and I'm pretty sure I have it right.. The content network comprises all those websites that have adsense running on them all over the place.. From Google.com down the most worthless MFA website..

The fact that so many people are clueless doesn't change the fact that most click fraud happens out on the content network.. It's why I quit running ads out there..

Most click fraud tends to be perpetrated by webmasters hoping to line their pockets, or their friends pockets, with easy money running click bots and asking each other to go to their site and "click my links".. There is less incentive to do the same on the search network where that money goes to those companies and not the person doing the clicking..

I myself struggle with that question myself as the site owners are doing everything ethical and unethical (in some cases) to get people to click on

your ad and you don't know if its a real potential customer or tire kicker, Hence I tend to stick with the search option, while not ruling out testing the "adsense option" in the future.

I'd stay away from showing my ads on AdSense sites. Most the traffic is junk traffic.
