Adwords Suspension
My adwords was suspended because my site contains gambling related content. - "Horse Racing Software" - Now I would not really mind except their are other simular sites that come up in adwords with the same related content as my site for the same search terms i.e. "horse racing software".
Even though they have written me and said, "Due to the volume of
ads we receive, some ads may run for a while on Google before they undergo
the approval process. We assure you that we are working diligently to
apply the same criteria to all of our ads. " - it sounds like hogwash (a much cleaner adjective than I am really thinking).
Many of these ads have been up long, long before I ever put my ad up - we are talking months.
Seems to me if they were serious about not letting my kind of site in their ads, that they would not allow the search terms "horse racing software" and the like in the adwords campaigns.
Google really is a good search engine but for me, Google sucks.
I want to know how the other advertisers get away with it and why I can't and why the Google people would lie through their teeth about it.
Thanks for letting me vent and I look forward to anyone that may have a little insight into this.

Re: Adwords Suspension
Yeah it does seem random sometimes. I remember waaaaaay back in the day I used to do some brief prescription affiliate work on AdWords. Some would get kicked off sand some would get to stay. No rhyme or reason it seemed.
Same thing goes for putting AdSense on these types of websites.

Google is sitting on a multihead dragon and cutting off it's heads. The problem is two grow back in their place. Google depends on their automated systems (they HAVE to) to cover everything.
You didn't state but maybe they caught your site so quickly because of the offensive (to google)words being in your URL and absent in the others? Much easier to catch that way then piling through keywords and code.

Re: Adwords Suspension
It's not just Google.
After Overture was acquired by Yahoo, the same problem began to appear. The extent to which one succeeded or failed in reaching parity, i.e. everyone's allowed or denied, seemed to depend on which person handled the matter. Sometimes, trying again & again did yield success.
The notiable difference between Yahoo/Overture & Google is that the former almost always responds in a timely matter, whereas with the latter it's a case of don't hold your breath waiting for a reply.

But, both can be checked in real time, as campaigns & ad groups are added, and as keywords are being submitted.

Re: Adwords Suspension
I have know warning about age requirements or about being a gambling site. I just sell horse racing software that people can use and take to their track or use online if they desire but I don't even have any links to any online gaming at all.

Re: Adwords Suspension
We have had similar issues with Google. Often it just makes no sense at all.
We have also been hit by their "trademarked" issue in ads, but only on a very few names - but it ALWAYS hits those same 3-4 names, even though I see dozens of other ads with the same names.
This just happened again yesterday, so this time I filed a trademark complaint with Google for that name - for all other 32 ads that had it. Still awaiting response on those

Re: Adwords Suspension
I really can spell. "I have know warning about age" should have said "I have no warning about age". I can't believe I did that.
Anyway, I don't know why Google would even care if someone goes to the horse racing track and gambles. Seems that I am now going to stop using Google and go elsewhere. I have the feeling that there are others that will want my money.

Re: Adwords Suspension
The problem with that is usually you have to put up a lot of money for an ad and you don't know how it's going to do. With PCC you can start out small and test your ads. I have considered it but finding out what advertising rates are can be difficult. With the example sire you just posted, I can't even find where I would go for advertising.

( Don't worry about spelling
I think Google would like to see something like this. Just cover them incase the law gets them. There was quite a bit of talk some time ago about tightening up Gambling website laws. Google Gambling website laws
Even if not law they, and others may pre-empt any potential future laws.
Google about displaying there Logo :- They don't like this, (Ok you don't but you get that they neet to protect themselves), Do NOT :- "Display the logo on any website that contains or displays adult content, promotes gambling, involves the sale of tobacco or alcohol to persons under 21 years of age or otherwise violates applicable law or stated Google editorial policies."
