It was more of being stupid than anything else. There was not respect deserved.
I think affiliate marketing is the way to go.

Re: The $3000 per month Google Adsense Project...
I have started dabbling with affiliate marketing.. Looks like unless you have highly targetted traffic in a profitable niche and/or you resort to questionable tactics - PPA is extremely difficult compared to PPC..
Anyway - here is an update on my Adsense earnings for March 2008 - $797 - an improvement but still a BIG drop in eCPM compared to last September!

What has been the highest amount made so far?
And have you looked into PPP?

Re: The $3000 per month Google Adsense Project...
I have not made ANYTHING with affiliate marketing yet.
The good thing about Adsense is you can paste your code on your page and provided you get enough traffic - you always make SOMETHING.
Last September I made over a thousand dollars compared to 797 in March, even though I only had approx 60% of the number of visitors in September compared to March (and I am even getting more page views per visitor now than I did then).
There have been quite a few threads about decrease in Adsense earnings for the majority of publishers recently...
There are many theories, but you can never know for sure as Big G keep you in the dark as much as possible...

Re: The $3000 per month Google Adsense Project...
I messed with the affiliate marketing for one day and made $40.00. I removed the site and have not had the time to get back into it as of yet but plan to try this week to start up again with it.

Re: The $3000 per month Google Adsense Project...
I signed up to NetAudioAds - which was supposed to be live in February 2008, but got the following message:- "We are running about 100,000 ads a day, spread randomly across member sites
as we check out all of our reporting and financial processes.
We expect to be testing ad placements throughout the next two to three weeks
Thank you for your patience."
Still it has potential if you get loads of visitors as it seems you can use it in addition to Adsense.
It may annoy users somewhat, but for me that is not a big problem, as most users dont stick around long anyway after they have gotten whatever free image they were looking for!

Re: The $3000 per month Google Adsense Project...
A potential problem with affiliate marketing is that there could be a risk of -maybe subconsciously- adjusting your site to accommodate the kind of people who would be interested in the affiliate offer/s that you have on your site.
One affiliate expert was giving advice which really meant that your site would just be an extension of his site. It sort of reminded me of those Sheep Live Fluke insects that take over the body of an ant turn it into a kind of ant robot and make it walk to the tip of a blade of grass so a passing sheep will eat it and then get into the Sheep's liver.
I can imagine another ant saying: "Well, gosh! It looked like Phil, but he cut me dead!"
And if you allowed the affiliate expert in question to help "monitarise" your website someone might say: "Well, it looks like his website at first but it's not the same any more!"

If I can make $100,00.00 per month I don't care whose website it looks like.

Do you think it would be worth the effort to do affiliate marketing for only $1 per sale? What if the item being sold was cheap (about $2) and sold quite well if promoted to the correct market?

I just started doing some testing a couple days ago, as a matter of fact the site is not even finished yet and it is for a cheap item. I've already made $50.00 and like I said, I've not even started marketing the site yet.

If you want to try another sometime, please consider mine.
The product is unique and would need to be marketed to people who use Microsoft Outlook. (I believe that is about 300 million potential customers.) If you can reach these people, the product will probably sell quite well.
Microsoft has listed my website as a “Third Party Provider” for Outlook add-ons and my website is ranked very high in popularity. See http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ma...982801033.aspx - I have two products in the Top 25 this month, #13 and #22. That is pretty good considering there are thousands of other Third Party Providers.
On my website it shows that my affiliate program pays 20%. However, I have increased that to 50% for some of my best affiliates, and I would be willing to offer you 50% as well. As a matter of fact, I will probably change the 20% on my website to 50% pretty soon and just make that the new standard.
50% of two dollars is not very much, but the good news is that most customers buy more than one, and the sales do add up rather quickly.
If you are interested let me know, or you can use the link below to go to the website and join.

mmmm... this thread seems to have gone off course a bit!
Maybe a new thread is called for?

he he, that is so true. I still feel a bit uncomfortable about affiliate marketing compared to good old fashioned adverts where you are not trying to manipulate the visitor/reader...
But having said that - I would definitely be interested to know how Janeth gets on!

There are a lot if ways to sell something. I am fixing to add some affiliate banners to one of my blogs. The blog post will be there and a banner beside them. There is no manipulating involved.
And there is no manipulating involved in the other site. It says if you want to buy a silicone wristband click here. You are then taken to a page were you can order and purchase a silicone wristband.
If anyone is manipulating anyone it's the sites running the Google adsense. The best way to use Google adsense is to build an ugly site and blend the ads into the site so they do not look like ads.

I've not been able to work with the site anymore in the last couple weeks but hopefully will start using it again this week.

Re: The $3000 per month Google Adsense Project...
It would seem to me that Jordan's next logical step would be to somehow incorporate affiliate advertising into his website.
Jordan - you can look at it this way. Right now you are being compensated for the click throughs which is good, but now imagine getting commisions on some of those click throughs as well!
I'm not quite sure what your website would be a good fit for in the affiliate arena.
Janeth - I need some good affiliates, if you're interested, PM me....

Re: The $3000 per month Google Adsense Project...
I just run 20 news sites and have articles and news items on them.
Affiliate adverts might tend to get in the way. Actually, I recall that I DO have one affiliate ad on one site. Not done anything, so far.
