And that is fine, however when you make misleading statements or statements that I feel are misleading then you have to understand that you have, at that moment, taken the thread off topic.

And as a member of the forum I and/or anyone else can try to either better understand or give our opinion on the misleading statement.

Yes it does depend on how the blog is set up and what sort of traffic it gets.

I did say "in my experience"

I did not say "I am an expert in this area"

I did not say "blogs are rubbish"

Why are you being so confrontational?

It looked a lot like you were stating a fact to me.

Your statement seemed to imply otherwise.

If your blog is viewed by the same proportion of bloggers as 'non-blogs' are, then your blog will do well with Adsense.
OK - to wrap up this disagreement (hopefully) - I would like to amend my statement above (which I did not spend much time on) to:-

"I am only saying that *in my experience in general, blogs tend to be viewed by a higher percentage of bloggers than non-blogs, and in these cases - Adsense won't work as well as it otherwise would.

*My experience is not all encompassing. I do not know everything. Other people will undoubtedly have had different experiences than me. Never take an unsubstantiated opinion on a forum as fact!

PS - everything is always up for discussion. I just thought Janeth was being a wee (Ulster-Scots for 'little') bit harsh...

How many blogs did you test and view this happening on?

September earnings = $368, a good increase from last month.
Traffic seems to really be on the rise again.

I wish mine was. It all went wrong when I followed the advice of a Good Adsense monetisation review last December or January...

I'm thinking the same thing. Obviously it's a number game. The more content and pages that you have the more you will earn from adsense.

It also helps if you pick the right niche to start with (probably *not* photos).

A good place to start is

https://adwords.google.com/select/Tr...timatorSandbox

There can be huge differences in how much you get paid for each click depending on the content of your site / page..

Just had a quick look at my earnings so far for October 2009 - and it looks like they are going to be similar to September.
So if I am to make any headway at all towards $3000 per month, then I need to drastically reassess my approach to things.
All suggestions gratefully received, and apologies in advance if I don't get time to act on any of them in the near future....

October earnings = $364.

Though traffic was up slightly in October, the big upward trend from September did not continue for long.

Currently my strategy consists entirely of adding new photos now and again to irishviews.com and hoping for the best!

This is obviously not giving stellar results.

I would like to devote more time to it, but I am not currently in a position to.

Soooo.......

If anyone would like to offer their services to drive more traffic to irishviews.com, I will be more than willing to split any money I make above the current $364 per month with them 50/50.

Any offers?

I'll help if I can. Let me know what you have in mind. webqsd2006#at*yahoo/.\com I'm on Facebook, Twitter, Blogger (most blogs are rubbish, janeth), LinkedIn, Myspace...

Would it make any difference if you split the site into two or more;
  • IrishViews-com
  • IrelandScenes-com
  • HighlandPictures-ir

Same exact site, no links to each other, same AdSense design, but not the same codes.

Just a thought.

I don't really know.

I am open to suggestions - but my preferred option would be if I can keep the web site exactly the same, (while adding some more content to it now and again), and have someone else say - "I'll send you an extra 100,000 visitors a month in return for 50% of the Adsense earnings from those visitors!"

(The eCPM is not bad for that type of site, and it does have half decent content).

PS - it probably would be worth trying...
