The most useful tool to come along in a looong time is the new Placement Performance Report. It's in Beta, and you have to ask for it, many times. But it is worth the wait. It's the firt tool that allows you to find those AdSense sites that yield traffic that actually buys, and drop those that give traffic that just looks.
It acually shows you which sites are giving you traffic from the content network.

Where are many keyword tools that can e.g. suggest and explode keywords for you, e.g. A1 Keyword Research. Great to quickly build many keywords, e.g. using 3 small tumblers:

windows vista

keyword
phrase

software
tool

windows xp keyword tool
windows xp phrase software
windows xp phrase tool
windows vista keyword software
windows vista keyword tool
windows vista phrase software
windows vista phrase tool


You can then permuate, cover typos etc. in above.
