Hey,
I have been using overture and adwords for the past 3 days. We have 150 clicks, but no conversion. It gets a little frustrating, but I want to look at ways to improve my conversion rate? We're getting around 3.5-4% CTR. Our ad position is 4-6, and the keywords that I've been using are highly targeted. Our site is http://www.rctoyhouse.com, and we have been trying to push our nitro gas cars, buggys, and trucks, so the keywords that we've been using are: RC Nitro car Gas powered rc car nitro gas car rc nitro truck rc gas car This is the AD Campaign that we have been using: Cheap Gas powered Rc Car Cheapest rc nitro car, rc gas cars rc nitro buggy, rc nitro truck www.rctoyhouse.com For some reason, we are getting a lot of clicks but no conversion. The prices for our items are 5-10% cheaper than everyone else. Can anyone offer suggesion? Much appreciated

Well how do you it is a bad thing that you have 150 clicks and no sales? Who knows maybe in your niche business it takes around 500-600 clicks to get a sale. Discover more about your business competitor or your bsiness standards when it comes to PPC would be helpful, but not always possible.

I would be an extremly wealthy man if 1 out of every 150 visitors to our site purchased..

Hopefully you will start getting some conversions soon so that you can get an idea of what type of keywords bring sales, then you can concentrate on improving the conversion rates of these keywords.
I would also suggest testing different landing pages to see which works best. |

Thanks for the suggestion. The reason why I was a little worried is because those 150 clicks cost me around $60.
I barely make that much in 1 item, and yet we dont even have 1 single conversion. Maybe I just need to bid less, and hopefully it will begin to come

Without getting too involved in things, I can't help thinking that your Ad needs some work.
One of the fundamental principles in selling is to give someone a reason to buy, and this, most of all, calls for emphasizing the benefits as opposed to the features. Cheap and cheapest aren't benefits! How to save money / How to find what you're looking for / How to get the most choice / etc are. You need to rethink your ad if you want it to convert -- and your landing page needs to incorporate the same sort of difference. Duncan

Hi RC: Here's 1 of the answers to your problem. Go to sitereportcard.com and run a test on your site. It takes forever to load and most of your visitors are not going to wait more than 12-13 seconds tops to see your site.
Whether it will take 200 or 2,000 uniques to your site for a conversion is the real question here. There are bizz models that take any where in that range. Good luck and get to work on speeding up the load time for a start to be a success! |

I'd be checking web logs to see which keywords people are using to get to my site. (sorry, I didn't check to see how new it is.) So, looking at your webstats is a good place to start.
Christmas trade must be about to start, you've got to get this one right. I know nothing about the r-c market, so your expertise is what's going to sort out the search terms. Are people looking for remote-controlled helicopters or just toy helicopters? Do they search by brand name (you may be restricted from using this by manufacturers?) Then, I think the advertisements have to "sell the sizzle". You can target different campaigns to different search terms and landing pages - and it makes sense to send people to the exact item they're searching for. Adwords is a steeeeeeeep learning curve :O M |
