Default How to find and qualify PPC Management Professionals?

I have several ecommerce sites and have started PPC with Goto (good old easy -very inexpensive- days of PPC) in 2000.

However the last couple years I have been busy with doing the business side (not-so-fun) of my businesses and lost touch (and lack time) to do proper PPC management (and am paying for it). Now I realize that I should probably find a professional restart my PPC campaigns.

Where can I find a good agent or individual professional for this? Any input about what to (and not to) look for ?

Well if you can't find a recommend from someone you trust then a company with large portfolio of existing clients who you can speak to is the best starting point.

Also I wouldn't be too keen on a company managing a client with similar business to yours as only one person can have No1 ranking and they would have split loyalties.

Arius,

try going to the search engines and typing the query "pay per click advertising" or "adwords pay per click" and see what comes up in the SERPs.

Default Depends on your level of service.

While it's a great idea to "Google It". My feeling is to try and find a smaller shop, someone with knowhow, but doesn't have 500 clients they are trying to manage. Someone that is familiar with all aspects of not only PPC marketing, but SEO and other SEM techniques that are available. By doing that, I think you'll find someone who is more concerned about service and their reputation and will be will to take the time to ensure your site is going to succeed in the PPC arena.

My shop is small, but I only manage 2-3 clients in PPC, and they only spend $4,000-$5,000 a month on PPC ads, but they spend more with me because I take care of all of their SEO services and help drive sales.

It's not always about how many thousands of clients you have, it's simply about the quality of service and work you perform. I'd look for someone focused on that quality, and that will put in the time to manage your ads, and I think you'll be doing well.

Choose some one whos can give you combination of personalized and professional services. It does not matter how many number of clients he or she is handling what matter most is quality service.

At the end of the day you want to see your ROI. Hire some one who can analyze your target market, recommends "user friendly" website modifications that will direct users to act the way you want. These measures can significantly improve conversions - getting users to click on your links, provide registration information and complete payments for products or services.

Obviously I'm biased, because I do this for a living... but from the inside I can tell you what's required:

* Obsession with metrics and split-testing
* Good copywriting skills
* Strategic, process-oriented thinking
* Organization, attention to detail, reports to client
* Having the adwords qualified marker helps, because it shows you can pass the test and are willing and able to spend a small amt of money to get it
* Ability to do custom work on landing pages is nice too- quicker turnaround for what's needed
* Track record of positive results

So I'd ask them (respective to list above)

* How do you work with metrics? What do you look for? What are numbers do you aim for in CTR, CR and ROAS?
* What kind of copywriting and sales writing experience do you bring ot the table?
* How do you think through the advertising process for clients (from prospect to sale) in terms of your PPC campaigns?
* How many split tests do you run and how do you keep track of them all?
* Are you an adwords qualified individual or company?
* Can you do HTML, CSS, javascript and graphics for custom landing pages where it would be optimal?
* What results have you achieved for other companies? Who can I talk to about it?
