Default Adwords + adsense

Does anyone here use Adwords + adsense to increase traffic to your site and earn through adsense? Is it possible to earn?

I have not had much success yet with either Adsense or Adwords, but I am in a very competitive category. Maybe it is different where there is less competition.

If you want to keep your accounts with AdSense don't tell any one you have got it
even if you don't Google can close it as they did with me.
Saying that you have invalid clicks and keep any money you earned and saying they are going to pay it back to the advertisers (do they?)
I don't know who was clicking on my ads but Google deemed them invalid as they where from returning visitors or some one was out to get me, they had bumped my earnings up in a week which was promptly lost when Google closed the account.
so yes they could be good but unless you are paying Google for the ads your self, don't expect to get much back if you are using their free ads though
People i have talked to with new or small sites who have run free ads have said the same as me Google doesnt want to know if you not paying them and the same excuse (invalid clicks)every time

In many respects, I think you're looking at two horses, each of different colour.
AdWords are primarily intended -- or, in my view, should be -- to drive traffic to your site and, on the whole, it's advisable to deselect the Content option. This is particularly the case unless your product/service has a very broad (e.g. nationwide) appeal.
In contrast, AdSense is meant to earn you money and, as far as I can tell, you're largely at Google's mercy as to which ads will show on your site.
All told, I've always thought that an AdSense program is -- or ought to be -- entirely separate from your AdWord one.
I've also found it interesting that, unlike all the advice available from such AdWord gurus as Perry Marshall, there's a scarcity of hints and tips about the way to make the most of AdSense. Maybe this translates into an opportunity for someone!

Duncan
PS. Admittedly, you can now have a hand in what happens if you do select the AdWords Content option, but the jury appears to be still out on how well, if at all, this recent option works.
It also isn't immediately clear -- to me at least -- as to what control, if any, you have as an AdSense user regarding which AdWord ads will end up on your site. (And please don't ask me to explain how the AdSense Search vs Content selection works!!)

Adsense. is not designed to increase site traffic. but it is an excellent tool for income. for best results keep the content pure and clean on your selected topic. This may mean doing a few things like making sure references to words like free are displayed as images. (do not confuse google with unwanted off topic information)
the secret to adsense is to keep the content highly desirable to web users - then keep the page striclty on topic. - Google will supply you with on topic links if it knows precisely what your page is about, make no mistake . . Google can do this better than anyone else on the net. Good on topic pages with highly sought information are often selected by sellers and can produce premium results.

DONTS: Do not tell your users to click your ads. do not click ads on your own site. Play the game straight down the middle, Google does not like to be seen as an easy target for a few cheap dollars, and is far too big to argue with...

Some Adsense gurus advice to drop SEO and use Adwords advertising on low paying keywords to drive your traffic to high paying Adsense ads.

Is this wishfull thinking or can it really work?

Gert,

You can do it but you'd want to have a decent advertising budget and have done alot of research on the keywords in your market..

A good way to do it is to advertise (pay for clicks) with the cheaper pay per click engines (kanoodle, findwhat, etc) then have people directed to your site that is showing adsense ads... that way you can acquire the traffic cheaply but be paid far more for the clicks on your ads... ie bigger profit margins and more MONEY!
