Default Is 5 cents the global minimum?

Once you could buy clicks for 1 cent at goto but now they seem to have been taken over by google. Are there still smaller adwords vendors that offer clicks for less than 5 cents? I thought it might be useful to testrun keywords on those smaller sites before putting serious cents into a campaign at google.

Actually, goto eveolved into Overture. That means that Google didn't take them over, Yahoo did. But back to your point.

There are a few small players left that allow you to bid 1c. I tried one out (deposited $10), and I still have a $10 balance there. That's as much as I figured, though. Even some of the larger small players can't use up $20 in a year.

At this point, you either play the Google / Overture game and get lots of traffic and lots of expense, or you try a small player and end up getting little to no traffic.

Google's Adwords and Overture are definately the way to go. Sure they cost slightly more then others, but you'll definately be getting your money's worth if you do it right.
