Default Somebody PLEASE HELP with AdSense...

Hi everybody. I work for TECHNICALGEEK.COM, a website that reviews games, hardware, and accessories for computers. When I first applied to the AdSense program, I was declined. I tried again, and hey, I was accepted. I really don't know if I should start implementing the ads. I know I could spare some space for a skyscraper on the homepage, and then I could probably put some other ads in another place, but I don't know if I will get any results.
Does anybody have any opinion about the program in general, or can anyone tell me if they see any page on technicalgeek.com that would be a good place for the AdSense code? Thanks so much...

Default AdSense = good

I agree, my site runs AdSense since quite recently, but I am actually already making money with the program, not a lot, but I see an upward trent that, if it continues, will take a large bite out of my site's hosting costs this year.
If only the bloody dollar would gain some terrain on the Euro now ;-)

If I was you I would try them and if you like what you will see then ad the Adsense code to more of your sites pages.

If you don't try them, then you would never know how much you could have earn't from them.

Default RE: Google Ad Sense

Hi, Ad sense is really quite good I receieved a check today from Google for $240NZ dollars. They take ages 6-9 weeks to actually get to you though.

I haven't looked at your site, I am a SEO Consultant and Usability Engineer, The ads Google provide will be based on what is in your Meta keywords and descritpions, if they have nothing to match you may just get Donation ads which don't generate much income if any. So if you have lots of video game words in your meta, then your competition will be showing in the google ads, which is why they may have declined you first of all.

You can email me any other Questions.

No they are not. They use the sophisticated tehnology that they got when they purchased Applied Semantics (called CIRCA) to base it on. They use this to analyse a whole lot of things on a webpage to serve up relative ads. Mostly its to do with conceptual relationships between words.

Default Adsense Tool

You can learn more about AdSense at:

You can also use the AdSense Preview to on this site.

I use AdSense on my various websites, it revenue is not as high as it used to be, but it still pays for my webhosting costs.

Default Its worth a try

Hi.

I say..try it. Kind of like chicken soup for a cold, eh?

Right, Google bases the ads on far more than meta tags. They are big on parsing the body text, alt tags and headings.

I find the ads are not consistently served up...some days they are on the mark and others it switches to something not quite relevent or even to those donation ads (which pay zero). The googlebots seem to crawl through on a regular basis, so it will pick up any modifications you make. Keep tweaking till you get consistent results (er...hopefully)
