Default Is ADSENSE placement at footer is ok or not?

I am placing my adsense code in footer is that ok or is it against the TERM OF USE.
In the past several other advertising program inform me to place the ad on top 50% space.

You should generally place ads in the upper 50% (or better yet, above the fold) because they are more likely to be seen there. Ads placed at the bottom of the page will typically draw a very poor response because of their low visibility.

you can place the ads anywhere. It is not beyond the realms of possibility that on some web pages the reader is more likely to click on an ad at the bottom of the page. I have many pages where google ads work better lower down the page.

Sometimes it is better to use the top half of the page to let the viewer know that you have what he
is looking for. Lower down the page adverts for those that do not find it.

I know the specific question here was adsense but as I just read this page I thought I'd add the link as it shows the NFL using Overature sponsored links at the bottom of its page. I really have to ask does the NFL need the extra revenue?????

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/8346661

Anyway overture does allow bottom of page links
