Default Large Number Alternate Ads

I sent Google e-mail inquiring about the number of Public Service Announcements ads on my web site. They responded, "that their placement of ads was based on content and if they found it objectioable thay would place their psas or I could use an alternate url". They are placing my alternate ad on pages with almost identical content but different subject with nothing objectable and I have experimented with removing content but this appears not to make any difference. Please advise. Thank you.

How long have you been seeing your public ads? I personally saw them on this page http://ufo.whipnert.org for about the first 3 hours of the web pages life. Ever since I have not seen one.

Even as soon as I FTP a new page up, they are already indexed and showing "non" public ads.

I am still rather new to this, so I would like to learn more of how Google does this, and why my page doesn't have this problem.

Is it because there are so many adword advertisers for this content subject?

Thanks guys..

Default Alternate Ads

Thank you for your response. I have had alternate ads as long as I have been in the program. I am going to change the titles of some of the pages and maybe that will help. I may just have to remove them altogether.

My guess would be that not too many people are advertising in the content network for google ads based on your related content. As an advertiser myself I choose NOT to use the content network specifically for this reason. My ads were getting too many "non buyer" clicks and my ROI was really bad. Once I stopped the "content network" advertising my ROI got much better and my clicks are from real buyers and not just people trying to help other sites make money.

I get the feeling many people are doing this. I keep getting emails from google to advertise on the google content network and "save" money by doing it. They are really promoting this because "my assumption" lack of sales in this area.

You also need to make sure that you have quality titles on your pages. If google cannot understand the title it will not be able to categorize the ads. I had a problem like this when I used different keywords on my title that basically contradicted the topic. Once I went with relevant titles with the content of the page the PSA's went away.

Hope this helps.

Default Google Adsense

Hi,
I've been getting some out of context ads on one of my sites, so I contacted Adsense support.

They told me they are beta testing a keyword filter to allow webmasters to filter out unwanted ads. I had to send them a list of keywords I wanted filtered and they arranged the filtering.

It appears to have worked well, coz I haven't seen any of the out of context ads since the filters went in place.

Maybe this would be the answer for you too.

Default Adwords, Keep it simple?

Just a quicky,

You are duplicating keywords or phrases.
Make sure you synchronise you Ad campaigns so that they do not clash.

This can at the simplest level be done by ensuring that there are no clashing keywords.

Slightly more by adusting the PPC for more important keywords.

Third but last, getting some common sense would help you immensely.

Google is a computer, what you put in comes out.

The guy's at google are trying hard but they do make mistakes. (I am not a google fan, groupie or anything like that)

Have fun and adjust with the flow.

Beware the November Google Dance is approaching if not already here.

Default Titles and Keywords

Thanks for all the quality input. I have been working over the weekend on this issue and hopefully, I can start receiving content ads being served rather than PSAs
