Default Google an over glorified advertising firm?

is Google a over glorified advertising firm?

is it possible that Google over glorifies Google ad-words it can be a valuable tool but not always a effective one cost wise

you have to keep in mind Google makes their profit from advertising and their private search engine technology these are their two sources of revenue and advertising by far is the greater share.
So if from a business stand point you look at Google as a commercial advertising firm this might change you prospective on you costs and returns.
Google is not for everyone just like every other medium.
Having spent large amounts on Google I find that results are slightly over rated but you expect any advertising firm to oversell them self and seek large market shares.
All I can say is look before you jump test the waters.
If used properly Google can be a valid marketing tool with a good return if used improperly you will find you profits being sucked into traffic.

Google started out as a search engine, so to me that is what they remain.

Look at Ford Motor Company. They make more money off of auto financing than they do off of car sales, so are they a bank and not a car manufacturer?

But, I agree that the results that are delivered with google, are overrated. Definitely test the waters before jumping in or you might find it a little deeper than originally expected.
