Just wondering, does anyone know if Google serves their ads randomly throughout their different ad sizes or does an advertiser pay more for a 1 listing box, etc?
well.. as far as i have seen ads from google.. they all are the same size.. (please correct me if im wrong) .. you just get more ads if you choose for a bigger type of box.
(125x125 button = 1 ad , 468 X 60 = 2 ads..etc?)
no. not the actual text size, etc. but the display ads like tower, square, etc.
So, now if a person's ad is shown in a small box which only holds one link, do they pay more than if they were shown with 4 other links in the rectangle?
I'm seeing this as the publisher's standpoint, not as an advertiser. Someone with an advertiser account would/should know this.
It sounds like you are talking about adsense ads in the content network as opposed to ads in the search network.
In my experience the adsense ads actually were costing less and getting me a higher placement, but it is hard to tell whether this helped sales or not. I tend to stick to google searches.
