We made a few hundred Dollars the last month with AdSense. Yesterday we changed more than 2000 text-ads to the new picture-ads and uploaded them. Today we received the following letter from Google. (Since it came in Spanish I translate part:)

“...Editors of AdSense are not allowed to put ads on sites that have too many key-words in the body or the code of the pages... Please correct this immediately or take the ads off, or we suspend your account... read the guidelines.”

I read the guidelines again and again and found this: (again in Spanish)
“...not allowed to put ads on (sites or pages ?) that are specially designed to improve your positions in search results for instance that improve your Page Rank...”


Our page rank was 4 on most important pages before we put AdSense ads on. Here is my part of my answer:

“...We will be more than pleased to correct this problem today if you can let us know which pages and which key words you are talking about. We have replaced your old ads for the new picture ads yesterday on over 2000 of our pages. If there are some pages with a keyword problem we will immediately correct it. Our site has over 18,000 pages and we have no need or intentions to "spam" in any way". All our efforts are concentrated to offer the best web site for the Costa Rica tourists...”

I also took the ads off all hotel index pages. We list over 600 hotels and I think these could be the only pages with a problem, but I cannot figure out how to correct it unless I call a hotel something else or change my file and page names: “hotel_xxxxx_costa_rica.htm”

Welcome to the "World according Google". There are plenty posts on this site about the incidents when sites were banned or Adwords ads suspended because they used pop-ups on their sites or appeared to have intentionally inflated key-words. However, there's also plenty of examples where top ranked sites obviously lack relevant content and to the top by finding loops around Google algorithms.

I am actually mpressed they sent the note in Spanish. Did it sound like yet another canned message?
