On adwords, I've tried various strategies but wondering if there is a better and simpler approach:
I would like to setup a campaign with potentially 1000s keywords. Start with say 100. I've done the keyword research. I've about 10 seed keywords, 100 main variations of it and about 1000 long tail ones. Also, about 10 negative keywords. I am confused on what should be the CORRECT architecture for adwords for such a big campaign with many ad texts and how to mange bids strategy? I'd also like to take advantage to exact, phrase, broad match possibilities. Any suggestions, helps are really appreciated. Thanks for sharing your experience. |

Im interrested as to the keywords your using, well actually the negative ones... in my experience depending on weather you go froe broad, phrase etc your likely to find a lot more than 10 negatives over time - something to take into consideration is all.
personally matching up your keywords to the right pages and writing adverts relevant to each is the only advice I would offer, choosing between broad, phrase and exact depends on how generic the search tearm is and how likely they are to bring up results that are not at all related to your site.

Keywords are mortgage related:
mortgage rates current mortgage rates today's mortgage rates lowest mortgage rates and so on. How do you guys set up the structure? You probably have multiple campaigns with multiple adgroups going to different landing pages right? How many keywords on each adGroup? |

ORb100,
you need as many ad groups as it takes! You can combine perhaps no more than 3 or 4 keyword phrases before your CTR and Quality score will drop off. So 1,000 keywords may well require 250 Ad Groups. I'm not sure why you chose 1,000 keywords though. You'll probably find 25-50 keywords would typically deliver 95% of the targeted volume.

The idea of 1000 keywords is to build long tail ones from the seed keywords that are around 30 keywords.
On longtail ones, bids are much lower. One of the main ideas I wanted to test is to bid on the same keyword with different bid amounts based upon broad, phrase, or exact search term. Any one has tried anything like that? |

Having a large number of keywords like that can certainly work well.
If I were you, I'd try to have each of your Ad Groups tightly focused on relatively few keywords. That's likely to lead to higher CTR, higher QS and hopefully higher ROI for you.
