Is Adwords getting much more competitive?

It seems to me that Adwords is getting much harder to get benefits from compared to 2-3 years ago. I have the impression that so many more people are now aware of Adwords in the last 2 years. So many more small businesses are actually now aware of what the ads on the top and right side of Google searches are

Do you agree that it is getting tougher?

I'm sure that is true. At the same time Adowrds has gotten better. You can control it much better now than you used to be able to.

I reckon its due to the current economic climate, more people are desperate to drive customers to thier services - grab more of the shrinking pie!

I think Adword campaign need more research like for better targeting you should know the real-world conversion data for specific niche.

Due to high competition, the adwords costs is increasing.
Earlier webmasters used to spend cents now dollars.

Or to the law of a maturing business.

Note: Free competition among many agents drives the pure profit to zero. This is electronic cyber competition.

Some of the classic assumptions of pure competition is instant adjustment, full information etc. Those assumptions are more realistic in Web Advertising than in many other industries.

Google AdWords are based on an electronic auction system.

Yes, its getting harder. But someone with two years of experience can do things best that a newcomer. There is always a balance, I think.

adwords is a hell of a lot more competitive now.
its actually getting not worth it, and a lot harder now because you have to find hidden keywords that no super affiliates are using to just make A LOT OF money

Well i have taken some screenshot of words I used to buy 3 years ago. One word took 500% in 3 years and some days, I don't bid because it's really crazy!!!!

Personally, I've noticed a shrinkage in competition in my market. This is due to the massive fallout in the finance sector.
