Default Google AdWord Keyword help needed...

Hello folks!

I am responsible for a fairly large AdWord budget with the ultimate goal being: bringing in conversions!

Question: If I choose the keyword "remove flash" shouldn't my ad show up if somebody types in "remove flash from plastic molded parts" ? How do I set up a keyword/keyword phrase to show up if additional verbiage is added to it?

Thank you for any advice you can impart.

Regards,
Jill

You probably need to indicate wether it is exact match or broad match.
Do you use AdWords api or you do it manually?

Hi Jill.

What sort of budget are you talking about, a fairly large budget could be anywhere from $4 to $200 a day... personally I consider any money spent of cpc should be spent on seo and organic results, but everyone knows that

but I wondered if maybe you cost per click was high and daily budget had been used up, so your ad wouldn't show, or if your daily budget was limited somewhat, how google speads out showing ad's over the whole day.

If you give me your website I can generate for you a big set of keywords which I am creating a tool for. My tool uses a novel approach based on statistical analysis and machine learning. They might be very different from what AdWords suggests and you can experiment with them. It works for me and other SEOs very well and I will also benefit from your experience.

Thanks for the replys.

My budget if fairly large - so ads running out of money isn't the issue.

My main question is... how do I set my keywords if I want my ad found with the set keyword plus additional text added to the search term. (ex. keyword=mold, I want to show up if somebody types in plastic mold cleaning)

Organically we are doing great. I'm targeting things that are related to our company but we do not have content for, thus, organically we wouldn't show up. Hence, advertising.

you can use either broad match, exact match, or phrase match.

use:
"plastic mold cleaning"
or
[plastic mold cleaning]

If you enter your keyword in quotation marks, as in "remove flash," your ad would be eligible to appear when a user searches on the phrase remove flash, with the words in that order. It can also appear for searches that contain other terms as long as it includes the exact phrase you've specified.

You need to go on testing and tweaking the targeted keywords and keep monitoring your performances on regular basis.

Run your campaigns with each keyword in all match types for a few days. Then you will know which type of matching works well for you. To accommodate additional verbiage, you keep your keywords as broad match. With AdWords you need to experiment a lot with ads, keywords and match types.

If you want to do the adwords dance without the help of a pro, spend some time in the Google Professionals Center. My two cents.
