Default Data scraper?

I am wondering what people have successfully used to scrape data for AdWords. I was checking out a couple (Spyfu was one) and it seems alright, but did not have data for the majority of the terms I entered.

Is there a good resource for finding out what the average CPC range is for a wide variety of keywords?

Regarding data scraping related products - they are very rarely accurate simply since there is no way to access data within AdWords accounts. (If you run an Adwords account and run a query on said website, you'll see for yourself). It can potentially give you more ideas for keyword phrases, but you can do that well enough on your own and with free keyword tools.

Good luck,

Danielle

We checked out one of the services, every single site we checked showed the same set of keywords including our own. None of these keywords ever ran on our site so the validity of the data is suspect. It could also just be that the sample data is not the creme of the crop but it didn't pursuade us to spend the money.

I didn't even know data scraping related products exist.... Those tools that Google provides with adwords I use all the time. They're all that's needed. (using them the right way is a needed skill though)

One of the things I use is I create a spreadsheet of different types of keywords (e.g. service, descriptions etc.):

Let's say it's accountants in local area:

we have:

accountant, CPA, Accountants, Certified Public accountants, tax accountant...

We also have the location including zip, city county and state.

I use the Google adwords tool - as well as other competitive tools to see if I missed something. Spyfu taps into not only google campaigns of competitors, but their meta tags etc. that allows them to go from competitor to competitor and scrape keywords. This helps me see if I missed a keyword type that I wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

(This assumes that I actually take the time. On many smaller accounts, I'm not always meticulous... so please don't assume that you have to do this. I'd love to hear from someone more experienced than I.)

Hello. Regarding data scraping software, here is a mozilla plug in that works well : OutWit Technologies - Harvest the Web . But won't help for adwords. In this case you need softwares that discuss with the Adwords API such as Decide DNA (Paid Search Management - Pay Per Click Management - SEM - 24/7 Real Media), EUlerian Analytics (Eulerian Technologies - Web Analytics - Mesure, Analyse et Optimisation de la performance marketing) or eSearchVision (Paid Search Management - Pay Per Click Management - SEM - 24/7 Real Media).

The KeywordSpy tool seems to work (at least the free 20 keyword test on a couple of known websites was accurate).
