Hi All,
I just switched to linux as my desktop system, but found that I could not type non-English characters in all flash applications. Do you guys have the same problem? If not, what could cause this? Would anyone try it on windows or linux and tell me the result? The link is a flash application I tried: 123flashchat.com/demopage_2.html Last edited by donotaskwhoiam; 09-01-2009 at 04:02 AM. |

I went to the flashchat demo page and was able to use the 'character map' ultility to enter non-english fonts into the chat session. I don't remember if the character map was included in the standard OS install or not. However, if your default language is something other than english you probably have a non-english keyboard... making the character map application a moot point.
Your browser will also have to support unicode (international languages) character encoding. I thought maybe the flashchat program might have some limitation, but given my short test, I don't believe it does - of course there could be an issue with a specific language perhaps. Maybe you could help exxplain you problem by defining what language you're trying to work with, whether you're using a non-english keyboard or some equivalent to the charmap utility, and whether you have unicode support established for your internet browser.
