Default flash with video

i want to start displaying videos on my site and i'm not sure of the easiest/best way to do it.

i've read alot of people like flash better than, say windows media player, but so far i have got better quality from media player. I am not that experienced yet and maybe just need to get better with the flash.

what is the best software to use for creating flash with video? i see alot of programs that do this, but can't i just do it in flash? if so, how?

while any help is much appreciated i guess i really would like to start by knowing which is the popular favorite means of displaying small video clips on my site.

thanks in advance.

I am playing with the idea of video myself. Flash streams for one thing, and more people have the flash plugin, more compatiable. WMV does not stream.

a good program i have found is MOVAVI.com

for converting any video format to flash, and it is easy to use, in my opinion.

i am looking for a way to add a html playlist of my flash videos, if some one has some code or knows of something easy to run, and wants to let me know about it.

thanks............

I don't know which verison of Flash you're using but, Flash 8 Pro has a video encoder that is simple to use.

There's tons of good tutorials on the web on how to use the Flash video encoder for Flash 8.

You basically need a simple online flash flv player on your website and a .flv encoder to encode your movies.

There are advanced scripts (youtube clones) that do this online (you upload the avi/mpg and it converts to flv on server side) but this requires special hosting.

Have a look at the videos here: This is Stomper Vision - How web video will transform YOUR online business | StomperNet StomperVision

You can pick up some good tips on video creation even if you don't buy into their program - which looks good.

We have been embedding from Final Cut Pro to Flash FLVs since the program first supported this non-streaming way of quality video. You can see our quality at WashingtonTravelMagazine.com, RVTravelmagazine.com, AlaskaTravelMagazine.com. We also have content clips streaming on some of the services, but I still like embedded... as if someone wants to steal my work, they get the whole page.
We are working our way across the nation to FloridaTravelMagazine.com, so if you can meet our requirements of any state along the way, drop us a query. Remember that the eyeball battle on HD screens is shaping up to be digital Internet content providers against old fashioned analog broadcast giants who still think they rule the world.

If you convert your movie to a .swf file then any modern browser can play it.

i checked out that stompervision, but while the audio was fine, the video was skipping along rather annoyingly...why is this? i have dsl 1024kbps or whatever, is this not fast enough for this video? is this what i can expect people on my site to see if i use flash?

i'm not much of a webmaster, just a fisherman with a website, but if i'm going to put video on my site, i want it to look good. i plan on mostly small clips displayed here and there, you can see what i mean here Fishing Vacation Packages In Costa Rica

this seems ok for what i need right now, this small it only takes a second to load, but are there people out there that don't have windows media player?

i guess i am asking if you can get the same quality from flash as with wmp?
