Default Publishing Flash MX

Hi all, just seeking some advice, am new to Flash MX and wanted to know...when I publish a flash site and upload it does it have to be within a HTML document or can it go up as an idependent site? Thanks

Dan

It can be either. The advantage of having it in html are title and meta tags (for Search Engines), ability to talk back and forth with javascript, etc. I can't find too many reasons why you'd want to just present it as swf, but that's up to your preference.

Default Flash 6 Player Note

Not as many people have the Flash 6 player. You can save your file in a lower version if you are not using anything that requires the version 6 player.

Since Flash is usually about graphics and manipulation of graphics, publishing just the swf means that the movie will resize to the entire browser window.

If someone has a screen resolution of greater than 800x600 the animation will slow down considerably. Alpha fades are jumpy, animation is too.

Also, bitmap images created at a smaller size will stretch and become pixellated.

The site will therefore look awful to a heck of a lot of people.
