Default flash templates

does anyone have a source for some good free flash templates that are easy to edit? I am trying to learn flash and wanted to start with a template to jump into it. Do you think this is the best way to learn it?

I used Flash book, some years back and worked through exercises to learn the basics and then having picked up some basic principles learnt more as I went along by just looking things up each time I needed to achieve a certain thing, like you are saying, seeing other peoples work and playing about with it can help pick up new stuff.

I find this site useful for Flash templates, resources, tutorials and stuff
Flash Kit, A Flash Developer Resource for Macromedia Flash MX Tutorials SWF FLA images clipart Sounds WAVS Animations Help and Support

There are loads of things to download there and often come with tutorials as well to explain what is going on, thats useful as I dont know about you, but sometimes I find it not so easy to follow what another developer is doing if I just have the template. That site gives quite good explanations as well.

Hi there uberanimal...

Is there something in particular you wanted to start out doing / learning, whether it be a slideshow, animation, clickable flash banner, etc... ? The reason I ask is because there are a million things one can do with Flash it seems, everywhere from creating games to site navigation.

I imagine you want to start simple, but I guess the question is what would be a goal down the road you'd like to be doing. Then perhaps the templates and tutorials you start doing would cover the right basics to what you want to do later, and maybe get you there faster.

chandrika -- nice resource link, by the way!

One of the best options would be to use a Dynamic Flash Template, all you have to do is edit the text file and change images in the folder.

Now, another option for flash gallery would be to use a Dynamic Flash Gallery Template.

Create amazing intros, flash sites without flash software.

There have been some talk about link dropping here. Very often you find the information on my site (second link in my signature if you site navigate to the correct sub page. I answer these post more and more seldom but this is so obivious. I shall try to not drop a link.) So you site navigate to IT + Site. Then you click "links" in the upper right corner.

Make the following site search (CTRL + F + Templates) in your browser click next 6 times or scroll down to the "Templates" heading under Adobe).

under the main "Adobe" heading. There are also some relevant links in the "Articles" category under main "Adobe" heading.

If you click in the upper left corner of that page, you will see that it is a sub site of the internet dot com site that has a lot of similar sites.

CTRL + F + Internet com sites (Spelled exactly as written to the left).

on my page.

<off topic>
There is a new Canvas element that will replace Flash in some environments for the following two reasons:
  1. The Flash format is proprietary.
  2. There is a modern HTM Canvas element
    CTRL + F + Canvas
You find many links if you search for Canvas on the W3C site.

This is your personal site? hmm... i will try a few of the downloaded templates and report back. DO you have a way of seeing the template in action? I really would like to view it live before trying.
