Hi, Macromedial Flash is good for cartoon animation. It is a special effect technique that enables you to view more than one keyframe on a stage at once during your authoring process. It avoids complex coding and problems due to losing target.But it has a disadvantage Complex timelines make it hard to edit, especially with other developers working on the same project.

I like using macromedial (funny name..lol) for animation, because you can make more complex anims than in standard anim progs, such as jascs animation shop. However, after publishing a flash anim as a gif, I then import it into some animation prog like jascs, as that gives much better animation compression results, for smaller file sizes than macromedial.
