Default Flash versus Java?

Does anyone know the stats for "userbility" between Flash 7 files and Sun Java files. I have a nice file that I want to show on my website that I can create either way, but am not sure which is more stable and able to be viewed accross more platforms?

Default Flash vs Java

I don't have any stats or science for ya, but I know from my daily use of many different computers that Java is still more likely to crash a computer than Flash (but not anywhere near as likely as a #$@&^^! .pdf file!).

also from years of looking at web usage stats Java is more likely to be turned off by the user or admin.

It doesn't ususally crash a machine - only sometimes. It usually just bogs it down for a few seconds, making me think "is it going to crash"?

Not as bad as .pdf's do, but still. I'm thinking it's not file size that does it, but the more processing a applett makes a computer do. Does that make sense?

Hi texxs,
that does help, thank you. I'm setting up my products to be able to rotate 360 degrees, so I'll have to weigh it up a bit more as to which platform I go with.
Cheers.
