Can't seem to get this pop up thing to work

I have been looking for a good simple tutorial on how to make pop-ups from flash for a long time, this one seemed like the perfect fit, but I can't seem to get it to work. Please be patient with me, as I am no expert in Javascript, in fact quite the opposite. Do you put the javascript on the page that holds the swf? or do you put the script on the page that is to be opened from the flash file. And if that is the case, are you putting the URL of that page in it'd own script? Also, if you have several different pop up pages (my site is a portfolio site with a bunch of different art work) how do you specify which one you want to open with each separate flash button, if the actionscript just calls on that one function? As you can see I am thoroughly confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
