importing sound w/ video in Flash MX Pro 2004

Sound does not import with video. I've gone through several tutorials and have no luck. It's a 6 minute video that I want to embed into HTML. I don't want to buy the Flash Video Kit, as this is a one-time download. Why isn't the audio importing with the video?
