Dear John,
I have a Beginners' tutorial and a little advanced version at my site http://www.webdevelopersnotes.com. The tutorials were written for Flash 4.0 but still hold good (in most parts) for Flash 5.0 and Flash MX. Atleast they explain the drawing tools, tweening, etc. a shade better than the "help" that comes along with the program. Thanks and regards, Manish (www.simplygraphix.com) |

I have really nice tutorial for beginners.
In this step by step you will see how to create on a simple way two images appearance. You don't have to use action script code to make this lesson. You can use this simple animation for any presentation etc. Step 1 First of all, save any two images! Step 2 Create a new flash document. Press Ctrl+J key (Document Properties) and set the width of your document to 420 pixels and the height to 280 pixels (as the dimensions of image). Select any color as background color. Set your frame rate to 32 and click ok. Step 3 Choose now File > Import > Import to Stage (Ctrl+R) and import the first image into a flash stage. While the image is still selected, go to the Align Panel (Ctrl+K) and do the following: 1. Make sure that the Align/Distribute to Stage button is turned on, 2. Click on the Align horizontal center button and 3. Click the Align vertical center button. Step 4 Now, while the image is still selected, press F8 key (Convert to Symbol) to convert this image into a Movie Clip Symbol. Step 5 Click now on frame 60 and press F6 key. Step 6 Go back on the first frame, take the Selection Tool (V) and click once on the image to select it. Then, go to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) below the stage. On the right, you will see the Color menu. Select Alpha in it and put it down to 0%. Step 7 Right-click anywhere on the gray area between frame 1 and frame 60 on the timeline and choose Create Motion Tween from the menu that appears. Step 8 Double click on layer 1 to rename its name into a image1. After that, create a new layer above the layer 1 and name it image2. Step 9 Click on frame 60 of layer image 2 and press F6 key. After that, while you're still on frame 60 od layer image 2, choose again File > Import > Import to Stage (Ctrl+R) and import the second image into a flash stage. While the image is still selected, press F8 key (Convert to Symbol) to convert this second image into a Movie Clip Symbol. Step 10 Place now the second image(small) where you like it. Step 11 Click now on frame 100 of layer image 2 and press F6 key. Step 12 Go back now on frame 60 and repeat step 6. Step 13 Right-click anywhere on the gray area between frame 60 and frame 100 on the timeline and choose Create Motion Tween from the menu that appears. Step 14 Go back now on layer image 2, click on frame 100 and press F5 key. Try it web design company |
