Default Am I crazy?

When I tell you what happened, you are going to think I am crazy. We had two photos in flash rotation (example http://www.seohouston.com/process.htm )Early in the morning we changed the photos, and removed the old photos from the server. When I got home, the new photos were not showing, the old photos were. I assume that my home computer was pulling this from some cache? I closed and opened the browser, even tried Mozilla, but all I could get was the old photos that were no longer on the server...

I've seen and had this happen on a few occasions. It generally ends up being a hosting issue which republishes your old info after an update of the server.

Jacob I was reading you information on the urls given and some of your statements regarding flash are...well just plain wrong! Flash can be read by search engines and there have been various post on the subject in this forum as well as others... just to name a point of contention.

anyway....good luck with your picture delema.

Default Figure this out

These two flash rotations should be identical. The same two photos, flashing back and forth:

http://www.seohouston.com/process.htm

On my office computer, they are identical, but on my home computer, I keep getting an older version of one.

Default I found the answer

All I had to do was change my settings to check for a newer version of the page on each visit - hitting refresh, or closing the browser, did not help.

quite often if you change in flash, viewers have to reload the entire movie to see that change. Sometimes a simple refresh won't do it, you need to clean out your cash. Definatly something I try not to do. If I do change content in flash, I'll often change the flash movie name and then correct any links needed. This way they are seeing the new info and not past info. The flash viewer doesn't always see updates. Something you could try doing is have the flash movie load the pictures at runtime and that would resolve that issue. I've started loading everything, text and pictures at runtime. Its just easyer to update. Harder to design though.
