Default Making Flash buttons as links

Hi there,

I am making a website, using macromedia (html). I am having problem in making the flash buttons to be hyperlinks. I tried to do it, but it always brings another text like under the flash buttons. Please, if there is anyway anyone can teach me on how to go about it, I'd be very glad.

And also, I'd like to know about making texts move across my website.I hope to hear from you soonest but till then, stay blessed.

Hi delfax,

I've moved your post into the Flash forum. These guys should be able to answer your question about the Flash button text.

Default Flash Buttons

It sounds like you are tying to make the buttons in flash and then trying to make the hyperlinks in Dreamweaver. If this is what you are doing, this is wrong. You need to add the hyperlinks to the buttons in flash.

As for the different text you are seeing, this might be due to the fact that you have just the 1 frame on the button. In actuality you have 4 frames you need to be concerned with when creating the buttons.

1. The untouched state of the button
2. The rollover
3. The hit
4 The Release

Once you have created the button, you would return to the main stage of the movie and select the button you want to add a hyperlink to and then in your action area you would add the get html action to you button and that's it.

Please let me know if this is helpful.

I don't find release being important unless you are keeping the flash movie loaded on the screen by the use of frames (something I don't recommend). In flash you can set buttons to get a url. Just click on the button and go to actions. Here is where you can do the action scripting. Your obviously new to this so I suggest not using expert interface as your type all your own code. Flash defaults to beginner mode so if you havn't changed this your fine. Your looking for the command getURL. That will allow you to tell your browser what page to load.
