Netscape currently has an HP 'click here' .swf that I think is really neat. How did they do it so that it opens and closes over the Hot Search section?
By the way, I know next to nothing about Flash. I just think this is really neat and would know more about how to do it. It's the 'over the Hot Search' section that has me most puzzled.

It's not Flash. It's JavaScript.

Now it's not there so I can't go back and see what javascript it was. Any suggestions?

I was back at Netscape.com and there was another version of this neat corner thing - this time for a credit report.
This is, indeed, Flash. If you right click on it, you can zoom in and out and it says "About Macromedia Flash Player 7". So I am still trying to find out - how do they get the effect that covers the Hot Search text with a furling and unfurling corner, including a shadow. This doesn't always appear on the netscape home page, but often enough that I hope someone will see it and tell me how it's done.

OK. I thought you were talking about their hot topics boxes that slides down the page.
I have yet to see what you are speaking of. Is there a specific page you are going to? What URL are you using? I am going to netscape.com and see no Flash. I have refreshed several times thinking ads my rotate.

The frustrating thing of trying to show this to people is that it's there sometimes and not there other times. Refreshing the page doesn't help either.
I really appreciate your trying to checking this out for me. Best I can say is to got to netscape.com once a day...you'll eventually see what I'm talking about. Thanks!!!!

yea, that is pretty neat, i think that the whole area from above the screen to the spot it stops is the stage size and the background is transparent. and then the close button as well as the click here acts as a swivel moving it on and back off stage, so it's actually always there but you don't see it off the page. i think that it's pretty simple, although not positive, being it's just the background transparency. of course this is all an assumption
