This is actually a great service. unfortunately it is expensive. If you have the time, it is not hard to create your own guide. I have done it twice myself.

Default OMG very funny sig

your signature made my day! it has definitely been a Monday from hell. surprised I haven't received an e-card from the devil himself, wishing me all his best! wish I had time to come back earlier, seeing the sig would have helped me get through a few calls.

but thanks for the info. I'll try it for a month and see how it goes.

Default I've used it

I've got it on my website and have gotten a couple of favorable comments (but no extra customers!)

I'd love to know how to do it myself. Scott, any hints?

Default Create a Character

I checked out the site. Seems pretty cool, but it probably takes up a lot of memory, do you think? Neat idea, though. Kinda like playing Barbies as a kid you can "create" your own characters' looks!

I currently have the Sitepal service on our site, http://www.ibuilt.net

Very reliable, engaging, and can help with accessibility.

I've seen it, and wanted it on my site. But not for the price!

Someone said they had it, and it seemed it be well received, but it doesn't bring more visitors to their site. The challenge I have is not with getting people to come to my site, but to have those that reach my site decide to move forward and request my services. Making the web experience more enjoyable, unique, or memorable would seem to me as a catalyst for moving forward.

The age old question, "What makes people buy?" with a web twist, I guess. Is it the page content? Is it graphics? It is more of a marketing question than a technical question. People buy using their emotions, then use their logic to justify their decision.

How do emotions enter into the decision to obtain home mortgage financing (my business)? Any ideas from those of you who are in touch with their emotional self? My thought was to have a warm reassuring voice guiding a visitor through the site would do the trick. The old man saying, "We make our money the old fashioned way. We earn it. You can count on us to help you make the best decision for your unique situation. Tell us your story, we've told you ours."

The Sitepal has helped iBuilt.net by creating a rumor mill. So many people have never seen a talking head on a web page, and as a result, the tell their friends to check it out.

The Sitepal allows you to broadcast your message in an active and engaging manner. With this tools, your site can become a commercial while still maintaining it's standard web structure.

You can also use the text to speech engine to make your help section or tutorials come alive. Instead of someone having to read your site content, the Sitepal will convert the text to speech.

If you know Flash, and have a little time, it is actually pretty easy. When I get a chance I will post a sample for you. I can tell you it only takes 15 images to create the whole thing. Once you have the basic animation for the mouth down, it is very easy to manipulate. Give me a day or two to find my sample that I did.

Default Crude attempt to duplicate it

Well, I've done my first Flash thingie, using Selteco. You can check it out on my home page (see signature below.)

The problem I have is that these Flash programs get so big so fast! I just don't know how Site Pal manages to have such a lengthy sound clip load so fast! Any ideas anyone?

There are many ways to the attention of the marketplace and you need that before they buy. It is difficult to have all three of these, usually just one is enough.

1) Be the first.
2) Be the best.
3) Be different.

Only items one and three apply here, once your competitors have a talking animation you'll need one to deny them number three...

I think only certain kinds of products/services are good with these animations. Web design is definitely one of them. If I had a polished sales pitch that worked in real life, I'd begin working on the animation yesterday!

Just my belated 2 cents.

Default you don't make sense

Hey mod,

iBuilt and the other posts advertising their sites is not self promotion.

Could you explain that?

videoful.com basically posted an advertisement for their service instead of offering constructive content related to the topic on hand. There is nothing against using a tagline or logo in your signature. But blatant use of the forum to tray and gain business is not acceptable.
