A Holiday Tip for Shipping "Green" on eBay
Being the holiday season, I'm sure many of you know this scenario. You and your loved ones have exchanged gifts, and there's a pile of everyone's crumpled wrapping paper waiting to go to the garbage (or recycle bin). Many in my family have turned to using gift bags, but there's always plenty of gifts that still get wrapped each year.
Being an eBay junkie, I just wanted to pass along this tip that saves a little money, and is easy on natural resources. Save that wrapping paper to use in packaging for shipping your sold eBay items.
Here's another suggestion...
Wadded up shopping bags. Even (or, especially) the Wal-Mart type of bags. My household tends to get an accumulation of bags. Of course they've usually ended up going to a store location that has a container for recycling them. Then one day I decided to use them in packaging for fragile items that are shipped from my eBay auctions. I've even received positive feedback from customers commenting on how well the item was shipped.
Another nice thing about bags is that they are an excellent insulator. That comes in handy in the event that your package could be left sitting somewhere in freezing temperatures for a while.
With the abundance of recyclable materials that are available, I haven't needed to purchase packing materials in a long time.
