Payment method for India

Hi,

I have a website with contents for webmasters. The site gets almost 50% of visitors from India, but it gets orders from clients in North America, Europe and Australia, and nothing from India.

The payment methods offered on the website are MasterCard and Visa. Can this be the source of the problem ? What would you recommend ?

You will lose about 3.5% of your sales, but offer Paypal - I do business with some manufacturers in India and we raise our prices to cover the Paypal surcharge and send money back and forth easily - if you keep yur transactions under $500 it is a better deal than paying for wire transfers.

I hate to say it.....because I really dislike the service, but yes offer paypal. Although Visa should be universal.

You would probally have to setup a local account with a different merchant ID and then setup weekly transfers but they are one of the bigger ones.

(Very popular in Asia & Middle East)

3/ Neteller
(Also Popular in Asia)

Too many webmasters try enforce their own payment preferences on their customers, plenty of your disappointed Web-Users may have wanted an alternative.

I agree with you. CCAvenue allows netbanking facility in India & people in India are getting used to netbanking more than Paypal.

Paypal, Moneybookers are the other preferred methods.

You may also try www.ebs.in which has multiple payment options including net banking facilities and cash cards as well. All info is displayed on their site.

Though I've seen CCAVENUE as the most used service in Indian operations, but I prefer and recommend PAYPAL. This is surely the best.
