Something like a shopping cart running from a CD

I am a teacher, by no way a programmer and only dabble in web design (I run a vbulletin board with several hacks).

I've been asked to create a CD as part of a grant. I've created the bulk of what I need as a autorunning HTML webpage on the CD. The trouble I am having is that part of the CD will contain documents (word, pdf, ppt) for users to open and print. There are several documents so I think that writing HTML pages for each would not be the best solution. The target audience is fellow teachers who are not very tech savvy.

I would like to implement a shopping cart like solution run completely from a CD that will allow users to browse and search documents by category, read a description and instructions, and open and print the documents. There should be no charge to access the documents.

Any ideas?
