I would like to share ideas on ways to promote and market a shopping cart website. I have seen numorous way like Google base, amazon, ebay etc.. I would like to know how can we go about them ..

There are many factors, including on-site SEO, press releases, paid ads and so on. Try to write a detailed marketing plan covering all aspects of promotion.

Google Base is best cost they are using this result in main search result with image if your keyword matching exactly.
I was felt it when i was working one furniture site.
