Live Help Customer Service Options

I'm trying to find a good "Live Help" application for my websites. I got a trial version of PHP Live Help and I really liked it and was about to pay for it, but I started doing a little searching and found that there are multiple problems with the PHP Live solution which involved SQL injection and problems with unsanitized variables.

So, I am searching again for a good solution...

I was semi-interested in another solution, but found out that it cost $89 per month or something like that... Forget that!

So, I'm looking for something, PHP/MySQL preferably, with a modest lifetime purchase fee (no monthly subscription).

Before you take the plunge, I recommend that you implement a free live chat solution, ie. volusion has one. When you're offline, take the whole code off (it starts to cost to display a different picture when you're offline)...remember that you have to stick a person in front of the screen to watch it. In my case, it just wasn't worthwhile, I personally didn't have the patience for it.

I don't mind sitting there...hopefully, it makes a sound if someone asks a question. I can fire it up and work in my garage as I listen for the bell to ring. Take care of a customer (hopefully with a sale), then back to working on the boat

OK, well that is good, but remember you will be beholden to be within earshot of the speakers for x hours per day. Someday you're going to finish work on that boat and, like today, you're not going to have any interest in sitting in front of the computer. This is why I recommend testing it with something that is free. Do it for a week....then assess the impact on sales....I saw no impact and canned it. Toll free number going to your cell phone works just as well and doesn't restrict your mobility. Boldchat has a free trial. Volusion has a 'free version'

Try it and report back on your results!

I have one phrase for you " Click-To-Call" I give you my word as I'm typing this reply to you that this is one thing that you do need to have an affordable live customer service. You. I used this service when I first started. I was simply keeping my phone near me, within 2 months of having this service I was turning calls into money. People went to my website clicked on the " click to call" enterted their phone number, clicked the icon again and withing 10 seconds I was on the phone talking with the person looking at my website right then. within in one month from this service i had sold over 70 web hosting plans and sold well over 90 ecommerce packages. Thats been 10 years ago.

You got to love what you do and remember the internet don't sleep. Once you get enough constant people visiting your website, "LivePerson" is to go. Hire some people to help you out by taking cals and doing the live person, and start the instant messaging between all of your people at your business.

Keep in mind that when you start moving people around and customers don't get the same person every time they contact you. You will staet loosing people.

Word of advice. With most of these solutions you can upload your "on-line" and "off-line" image. What you can do is upload a 1x1 pixel image with the same background color as your site as your "off-line" image. This way when you have the chat program fired up they will see the on-line image and when your off your customers will see nothing.
