Hi Everyone,
I'm in the planning stage of implementing a site which others can utilize to sell their products with the goal of absorbing a percentage of each transaction to maintain the site's operation. I have looked into both paypal and google checkout as a transaction processing service, but what I would really like to find is a service that allows a transaction to be distributed between two entities right at the point of completing the transaction. IE: Entity 1 (website host) and Entity 2 (Seller) would each receive a percentage of the transaction split accordingly to each The only way I currently see of accomplishing this, is if Entity 1 has the full transaction processed, and then initiates a second transaction to pay Entity 2 their share of the initial transaction. Does anyone have suggestions as to how this might be accomplished with only one transaction (either through an online service like google checkout or paypal, or through a third party merchant service?) The only way to really do this is to provide your own merchant accounts. You can become a registered ISO/Account provider (this is quite expensive to become). Or you can attempt to become an agent for an ISO that will allow you to do this. You would have to signup the merchant account and the percentage will automatically be paid to you.
Of course Paypal and Google isn't going to give you a dime if your clients setup with them directly. But at the same time, it makes more sense for most online businesses to setup a real merchant account anyway (some smaller merchants/sites still do benefit from using Paypal or Google but most serious providers find benefit in a real merchant account). |
