Default Google ECommerce For PHP site

I am struggling to track e commerce data in google analytics. My clients site is in PHP and the URL string never changes therefore they dont have a separate receipt or thank you page. The URL rermains the same throughout (/site.php.cart).

I have the code on the pages and am seeing conversions but no revenue data. Any information would be great appreciate in what I am doing wrong.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I am not completely sure why your url never changes... I would think this make for a very small site =-)

But this page can help you. You can tag your post command on you "last step" submit, like order confirmation or something.

Google Analytics Help Center

I also think it's rather strange that Google is pulling the conversions and no financials. You might have to look at the parameters in the integration section and code them properly for your cart's macros.

Good Luck,
Melanie

Also, if you go to Google Analytics Help Center you find that e-commerce is among the to 10 searches. Have you clicked the e-commerce link or searched with that KW on that page?

Thanks for the response. I have honestly tried every google help or disscussion group I can find. I an using the old anaytics code so maybe I need to update that with the new one in order to track the ecommerce aspect from the website.

Thanks

Yes, you do need to be using the GA code. This is wise in any case to prevent "broken lock" in any SSL page, as the GA code has a SSL variable to keep the secure integrity of your pages without errors or warnings.

Thanks for the response, do you know if anyone or a compoany that can update the code for me and make sure it is working correctly. Right now in Analytic I see conversions but just no revenue or transaction data which is odd. I am also useing the old anlytics/urchin tracking code which could contribute to the problem.

Thanks in advance

First try replacing the old Analytics code with the new GA code and see what you have... Your cart may already contain the proper parameters for your macros. Remember Analytics is 24 hours behind so wait at least a day to decide if it is functioning properly.
