Default PayPal Alternative

I'm having massive trouble with PayPal and its fraud protection process (if you can call it so).

I used PayPal to send an invoice to an international client for consulting services, more than a week ago. The client paid the down payment within a few minutes. Great! I started to work.

However, PayPal did feel uneasy about this payment and thought it might be unauthorized. They blocked the funds and started investigating. After giving them some information to their questions, they logged a single status and went off to investigate. Nothing from PayPal to me since then. I know they contacted the buyer and have received the documentation they requested two days ago. But no release of the funds. I have no direct ability to request and update of the complaint case. BAD! I have written through the "Contact Us" channel, no reaction, not even an automated confirmation. BAD, BAD!

I appreciate that PayPal is looking out for my interests and wants to protect me from fraud. But I have no patients for blocking the business I'm engaging, and payments are a vital part of this. I was due to deliver first results yesterday, but I won't before payment is secured.

So my question, what are the alternatives?

Is Google Checkout more responsive?

I look forward to your answers

I've heard that moneybookers.com is quite good, but direct bank transfers are probably the best option for consulting services.

Alertpay has been getting a lot of good press and even has been said to offer better service then Paypal by a leading news company (I'll see if I can find that link).

If you're based in the US there are plenty of online accounts that you can apply for. Some better priced ones are ECHO Credit Card Processing - Merchant Accounts and Check Payment Processing Services, NexCommerce - online merchant services - bundled rate gateway, and Merchant Accounts | Credit Card Payment Processing Services. The only problem is the international billing. Most domestic providers don't mind you doing international billing but they will ask that not too many (or a large majority) of your cards be international as it raises the risk of fraud. If you cannot work with an real merchant account ecommerce provider I agree that Xoom, 2checkout and moneybookers may be good options. But if you can work with a real merchant account it's always the best option.

There are many other payment processors like money bookers and e-gold. And I feel money bookers take the second place after pay pal. So you can use money bookers to get your things sort out. And one question for you did you call them (pay pal) directly to ask your questions? If no just do it now because I know and all the others say Pay pal is the best. Some times they act weired but they are in the top of the list in payment processors list.

For me i am still comfortable with Paypal until now. I have using Paypal almost one year. I have nothing problem on it. I'm satisfied with paypal so far. Paypal also is using for the most online business. They are easy and pioneer on Payment processor. Even they charge me some taxes, but it is best securize payment processor for me since i'm involved in Online business. But if you are looking other altenative aother than Paypal, I recommend you that using Moneybrooker as your payment processor. That only my opinion.

GoogleCheckout and MoneyBookers are both good alteratives if you are having problems with PayPal. Now, neither of these other two services have been around as long as PayPal has so do be warned about that.

I have been using PayPal now for roughly seven years and I have not yet once seen any problems with them, heck they just called me up last week and told me about a fraud transactions, they called me up within minutes of it happening, so for right now they are on my good side . But if you want some alteratives, I have told you about googlecheckout below.

GoogleCheckout I use fairly often and its seems to be a bit lower rates on price per transactions if you are using it with a ECommerece Store front as well.

Paypal is better, but it isnt supported everywhere. Like in my case I could recieve funds, but I could send funds, so am using Xoom to accept Paypal and other CC payments. But Xoom is a bit complicated process. So am still searching for a proper method to accept payments

That's them. So far the word about them is positive. I'm sure that will change as more and more people use them and they're forced to deal with fraud on a much larger scale.

I use revolution money exchange now. To me they're 10x better than paypal and they have a great promotional thing going on right now. All new users get $25 free :]

They also don't charge transaction fees as long as the person you're exchanging money with was referred by you. I've found them to be extremely safe/protective.

G'day!
