Default PHP/MySQL CMS

Hi All!!

After developing my own sites for some years, I have realized that most of them share same features amd to start a new one, I copy the last made and modify the layout to adapt to client preferences. But I spend too many time preparing or configuring it for metatags, friendly url... which it is also a messy and manual duty.

So I am looking for a CMS with the following capabilities in case someone can help me:
- PHP / MySQL
- hosting with normal requirements, nothing special
- templates for layout fully designed by me (I would be responsible of XHTML and CSS correct markup)
- able to use different master templates (different designs depending on area, for example)
- content easily accesible from the management panel
- slaves pages designed by me (with Dreamveawer for example) and not having to be code-adapted like Wordpress or any other Web Editor does.
- slave pages being in html or in php (pages could be database driven)
- able to support URL friendly
- meta tags independant between them (different title and description for each page - also TOKENs would be helpful for databese driven pages)

I would not mind to build it with Ruby'n Rails o <a href="http://www.symfony-project.com/">Symfony</a>, but it depends on that developing time possibility to grow.

So, I am looking for a site designed in Dreamveawer, but making me easier the control of slaves pages, meta tags and url rewrite.

Thanks for your help and kind regards!

What i believe to be the best PHP/MySQL CMS is Joomla CMS - Joomla!.

Easy to create your own Templates, components and modules. Plus there are hundreds of free 3rd party components, templates and modules already available, forums, guest books, google maps, google analytics, ecommerce and more...

  1. Click on the second link in my signature.
  2. Site navigate to "IT: Site" (bottom link in site navigation field).
  3. Click on "Links" in the upper right corner.
  4. Scroll down to or page search (CTRL + F) "Content Management Systems" (excluding quotes). The best are in the category "Top"
It is also possible to build your own from scratch:

Thanks to you all for your responses.
I will try to read it carefully during the weekend.

Something about Drupal or Wordpress as CMS?
But what interest me more: could I use my own php slave pages instead of html pages made from the editor? It should be database driven in several cases.

Thanks again and kind regards!

I have being able just to read about Wordpress. Conclusions from people:
"Drupal and Joomla are much more robust but, just for static Sites, the learning curve and all plugins avilable make you easily to choose Wordpress".

Take a look at this interesting article:
Graphic Design Blog » Wordpress as a CMS - Content Management System

There are two things that I must learn about Wordpress from my initial requirements:
- how to manage a product catalogue? The best solution available people say is: WP e-Commerce at Instinct Entertainment
- or how to use my own php code into wordpress templates

Thanks you all for the responses. I will carry on this post!
